전혀 고립된 보이지 않는 환경에서 스스로 고립되어 가는 인간군상이라는 모티프는 이후 헤어조크 영화에 등장하게 되는 인물들에 대한 예고편과도 같다.
헤어조크는 이 작품으로 베를린 영화제에서 은곰상을 받으며 주목을 받았다.
